Sam Altman says OpenAI's best internal model cannot yet be open-sourced responsibly
In a Stanford GSB interview, Altman said open-weight models matter for society but the current top internal model should not be released until cyberdefense and biosecurity are stronger. He also said current global governance would need changes to sustain the present pace of AI progress.
